🌊 Open the corruption floodgates. Ohio state lawmakers facing review by the state’s independent campaign finance watchdog are openly trying to dismantle the commission and hand the group’s oversight responsibilities to party-aligned county boards or a Secretary of State-selected hearing officer. Lawmakers in the Buckeye State — which is one of the most gerrymandered states in the country — complain the commission and its $642,000 budget (less than one percent of the Ohio government’s annual spending) are wasting valuable time and money.
