Corruption Scandal Roils Final Days of Cleveland Race

Nothing better illustrates the Democratic “War against Progressives” than the onslaught of right wing and corporate interests against Nina Turner. In additon, brining in Hillary Clinton and Jim Clyburn to support opposition to Nina Turner, a black, female progressive just gives the game away. Progressives need to understand that the current Democratic establishment is their enemy. An enemy more interested in destroying the progressives agenda than in defeating Republicans. Unfortunately, the current crop of progressives in Congress seem more inclined to be accepted into the “club” than to mount any sustained opposition to the neoliberal and neocon agendas of both major parties.

Ha! Shontel Brown is even getting money from Trump backers along with the support of Hillary Clinton. That tells you a lot right there, doesn't it. And she used her political position to enrich her romantic partner and campaign donors? So business as usual, even after we all endured four years of Trump and are facing climate catastrophe, it looks like from her.

Good luck to Nina Turner and her track record of actually fighting for universal policies that would provide real help to our struggling masses of people.

No surprise that even as Shontel Brown is embroiled in controversy and corruption, the Congressional Black Caucus and Hillary Clinton are like,”Hey, we’ll continue to support her, so long as it means Nina Turner doesn’t get elected.” Because fuck real change, right? I actually think that the DNC etc were stoked about the election of trump, just because it meant,”Well, shit, if the GOP doesn’t care about his obvious corruption, I guess that means we don’t have to give a shit about the obvious corruption of our candidates, either.” And Democratic voters have fully jumped on board, too. They’ve completely accepted this zero-sum endgame nonsense of,”Well, the Democratic candidate might be corrupt, but at least I’m not voting for a Republican…” Same thing right-wingers have been doing for years. Everything has been “Fox Newsed” now. “I won and you lost! And that’s all that matters!”

Nina Turner is a genuine spokesperson for progressive reforms regardless or race or gender. Shontel Brown is at best personally ambitious, a good example of how the color of one's skin or one's gender tells us very little or nothing about that person.

Yes, Shontel Brown is auditioned and costumed to look like a democrat. Nina Turner is the Genuine article!

This article portrays the divisions that may make it impossible for progressives to stay locked in. Brown had credentials, too, but Turner was "it" for progressives.
