Good things are happening! A microplastics warrior emerges from your kitchen, congestion pricing scores big in the Big Apple, the Supreme Court pushes back anti-abortion activists, and clean energy loans could fill a housing shortage.

Got Microplastics? Have A Banana

A new study found that an apple a day really can keep the doctor away. Antioxidants that give fruits and flowers their vivid colors counteract the danger of microplastics to our reproductive system, according to research conducted by the National Institutes of Health.

The research conducted by the federal public health research agency — that the Trump administration has since moved to defund — found that compounds widely present in nuts, fruits, and vegetables protect against a range of plastic-induced impacts on reproductive health, including reductions in testosterone and estrogen, decreased sperm counts, lower sperm quality, erectile dysfunction, and ovarian damage.
